Unit conversion changes a value from one unit to another within or between measurement systems. Dimensional analysis is a step-by-step method for doing this. Set up a conversion factor so the unwanted unit cancels and the desired unit remains. Then calculate the answer and round it to the same number of significant figures as the original measured value.
